Children speak from their heart and now and then, they wrote something that bring tears to my eyes. One child wrote in his father's Day card today " I wish I can see my father again. I hope he will come back to me" Spontaneously my tears flow because that child's father had died. I had to hug him because I could feel this small child sadness. Another wrote, On this father's Day, I hope my father and mother will be together always. Again, those words hit a soft spot in my heart because I also know her parents are heading for a divorce. Simple words from a child can make us sit back, stunned. One boy came crying to me and said...I don't feel pain if someone beat me but I feel pain if someone hurt my heart. Coming from a small child, it can silent an adult for a while.

I never celebrate Mother's Day and my mom understand perfectly.

I take my mom out for dinners whenever we feel like it. I buy things for her whenever I see something that she would like. I financially support her in all her daily expenses. She knows she can call me anytime for help if she needs it.

To me, celebrating Mother's Day is a waste of money since everything is marked up on that day to take advantage of people's fear of 'losing face'.

Every day is Mother's day to me.

Cool ideas. But again, if you love someone, everyday is their day.

To me all these mother's day, father's day, valentine's day, grandmother's day, grandfather's day, maid's day, brother's day, sister's day, uncle's day, aunty's day, and the list goes on....are just a commercial hype only....just too much of commercialization and people actually taking advantages out of it, rather than showing true love.

Just approach your love ones, give them a hug, tell them you love them and just a simple 'Thank you' everyday. Just make everyday their day...not just once a year...

Sorry,..it's just me..

Many children are being taken care of by their grandmothers because their young parents are busy pursuing their careers, costly and difficulty in getting a maid and most important, the safety of the children. As a teacher, I have came across many children who sees their parents only once a week, especially the single-parent children. Thus, the full responsibility of bringing up and caring of them are mostly from the grandmother. I have seen these grandmothers sending and waiting for these smalls kids waiting patiently outside the school gate, shielding them from the hot sun with their umbrellas, hugging them when the kids crying. It touches my heart to see how devoted and loving they are. Well, since there's already much publicity to celebrate Mother's Days, why not have A Grandmother's day too! At least these young kids can show appreciation for their grandmother in a big way too.
