Count Me In!
Date : Saturday, 30th June 2007, 4pm till 10pm
Venue : Dataran Merdeka
Warm greetings from AWAM! Many will know us as a women’s organisation that advocates for gender equality, and to end violence against women. We are also an organisation that has been working with the youth for many years to raise their awareness on how the youth can play a crucial part in making our society a better and safer place.
Being a non-profit organisation, it is a constant struggle to financially sustain our programmes. As a fundraiser for this year, we have decided to hold a large public event called the Walk & Wheel. It will create awareness and bring to the forefront the need for a safe environment among young people, the disabled and the larger public.

The Walk & Wheel is a non-competitive event comprising a walk around Dataran Merdeka which will culminate in a pop/rock concert in Dataran Merdeka itself. Local stars will be performing. In the past we have had stars like Reshmonu, and Alex Yoong supporting us at our events. We will be mobilising young people from schools, orphanages and disabled homes across in the
Among the fun side events held in conjunction with the event are the school community project competition, dance, and t-shirt colouring/drawing competitions.
We seek your kind contribution towards this worthy cause by sponsoring an underprivileged group so that they may take part in this event. The sponsorship required is the purchase of t-shirts at RM25 each. Wearing the t-shirt enables that person to participate in the Walk & Wheel; enjoy the concert; and take part in the school project, dance and t-shirt colouring/drawing competitions.
Of course, you may also buy the Tshirts for yourselves! Come join in the fun with your family and friends on Saturday, June 30.
We look forward to you coming on board to help us spread the message of safety. We await your positive reply. We also welcome any contributions by way of gifts and prizes. All cash donations to ALL Women’s Action Society are tax-exempt.
